Annie Jr. is the inspiring story of a courageous young orphan whose optimism and determination transform her life and the lives of those around her in 1930s New York City. This family-friendly musical celebrates hope, resilience, and the belief that brighter days are always ahead.
PRODUCTION SCHEDULE: Rehearsals are Saturdays 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
- REHEARSAL DATES: August 29th, September 12th, and 26th, October 3rd, 10th, 17th, and 18th, November 7th, 14th, and 21st
MANDATORY TECH REHEARSALS – December 2 -4, 2026

IMPORTANT NOTICE: The December 5, 2026, performance date is scheduled based upon sufficient enrollment and the ability to cast a complete production. If a full cast is not enrolled, the performance may be rescheduled for January or February 2027. If the production is postponed, December will be a non-billing month. Monthly tuition of $225 will resume in January and continue until the rescheduled production.
Tuition: $675 or $225 per month for September, October, and November
If you pay the full tuition by September 7th, you’ll only pay $600
CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS:
Annie
An optimistic, courageous, and resourceful young orphan who dreams of finding her parents and belonging to a family. Annie must be a confident singer and actor who can show strength, vulnerability, compassion, humor, and hope.
Oliver Warbucks
A powerful, wealthy businessman who initially appears formal, stern, and emotionally reserved. Through his relationship with Annie, Warbucks discovers a warmer, more compassionate side of himself and ultimately becomes the loving father she needs.
Grace Farrell
Oliver Warbucks’ poised, intelligent, and dependable private secretary. Grace is professional and confident but also warm, nurturing, and protective of Annie. This role requires maturity, strong acting, and secure singing.
Miss Hannigan
The frustrated and comically villainous matron of the orphanage. She dislikes her job and frequently takes her unhappiness out on the children. The performer should have excellent comic timing, a bold personality, strong character vocals, and the ability to command the stage.
Rooster Hannigan
Miss Hannigan’s flashy, dishonest, and self-assured brother. Rooster is a smooth-talking con artist who plots to impersonate Annie’s father and collect the reward offered by Warbucks. This role requires charisma, comedy, movement, and strong musical-theatre performance skills.
Lily St. Regis
Rooster’s glamorous, distracted, and money-minded girlfriend. She joins Rooster and Miss Hannigan in their scheme to claim Annie and the reward. Lily should have strong comedic instincts, personality, singing ability, and chemistry with Rooster.
Sandy
The loyal stray dog Annie rescues and befriends. Sandy is played by a young performer who must use expressive physical acting to create a believable, affectionate, and energetic canine character while participating in the musical storytelling.
Molly
The youngest orphan and one of Annie’s closest companions. Molly is sweet, playful, emotional, and sometimes frightened, looking to Annie for comfort and protection. This role requires expressive acting and confident group singing.
Kate
One of the younger orphans. Kate is observant, energetic, and familiar with Annie’s story and the daily routines of orphanage life. She participates actively in the orphan ensemble and should be a strong singer and expressive actor.
Tessie
An emotional and dramatic orphan known for becoming worried and exclaiming, “Oh my goodness!” Tessie brings humor and personality to the orphanage scenes and requires excellent facial expression, comic timing, and ensemble singing.
Pepper
The toughest and most outspoken orphan. Pepper can be bossy, competitive, and quick to challenge the other girls, but she is still part of the orphan family. This role requires confidence, energy, strong character choices, and vocal projection.
July
A quieter, kinder, and more nurturing orphan who often tries to protect the younger children. July should bring warmth and sincerity to the group while demonstrating strong ensemble singing and expressive movement.
Duffy
One of the oldest and biggest orphans. Duffy is confident, experienced, and accustomed to the realities of orphanage life. The performer should have a strong stage presence and work well within the orphan ensemble.
Drake
The dignified and efficient head butler in the Warbucks mansion. Drake supervises the household staff and welcomes Annie into the home. This role requires polished posture, precise movement, clear diction, and a formal but charming personality.
The Warbucks Servants
The well-trained staff members who maintain the Warbucks mansion. These performers should demonstrate elegant posture, coordinated movement, strong ensemble singing, and distinct character personalities while helping Annie feel welcome in her new surroundings.
Bert Healy
A confident, energetic, and polished radio personality who helps publicize Warbucks’ search for Annie’s parents. Bert Healy requires excellent diction, enthusiasm, strong stage presence, and the ability to lead a lively musical number.
Star-to-Be
An aspiring performer who arrives in New York City with dreams of becoming a star. This featured role requires a strong solo voice, confidence, optimism, and the ability to capture the excitement and ambition of someone pursuing a Broadway dream.
President Franklin D. Roosevelt
The President of the United States and a respected friend of Oliver Warbucks. Roosevelt is thoughtful, authoritative, encouraging, and inspired by Annie’s optimism. This role requires maturity, clear speech, leadership, and a commanding stage presence.
New York City Ensemble
The citizens, workers, tourists, vendors, performers, and other colorful personalities who bring 1930s New York City to life. Ensemble members must sing, act, move confidently, and create the energy and excitement of the city.
Hooverville Ensemble
The struggling New Yorkers living in Hooverville during the Great Depression. These performers help establish the historical setting and show the financial hardship experienced by many families. The ensemble requires expressive acting, storytelling, singing, and strong group interaction.
